Interesting. Just started Long War (after watching it 1st in Let's Plays in 2014 lol).
I love it. As a matter of fact I wrote a short Tactics guide "The Ten XCOMmandments" mainly for myself. It's very basic, and, since you're such an awesome Long War Pro, I wondered if you'd be willing to have a look at it and maybe give me a comment?
Curious about this. I found while looking for mech builds, and am an experienced player. But I have not tried everything, and shadow device is one. The other was a pathfinder mec and going to try it out. So what does a shadow device do? Just hides you for a turn or something? Just not my style. I like to pull stuff to me, I guess if you get jumped maybe but you would have to be clumped up in a ball??? Never even built one for LW.
I haven’t complained about the difficulty of LW publicly, though I have cursed under my breath on occasion. I think you may be referring to some comments on Long War Rebalance which is a good deal harder…
I did my own XCOM mod some time ago based on some pod reveal mods.
One thing from this mod I impelmented in Long War now also and it really made the experience much better (much less frustrating, more tactical challenge):
Made High Cover bonus 75 instead of 45. Thx for giving it a look! Would be awesome if you read it!
Haven't tried LW yet but I'm excited to try it once I'm done with XCOM 2
I highly recommend.

I understand you were a little bit fed up with Long War and it's difficulty, but maybe this will interest you: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3221214279
Thanks anyway. Ah, you're quoted in my guide. ;-)
Great summary! You may be late, but not wrong. Definitely pleased to see my motion tracker cheat sheet quoted.
Keep writing if you enjoy it. As you say, write the journal for yourself and maybe others will find it useful.
I am actually thinking about returning to LW, but with some extra difficulty (no shadow device, bad starting country, or something like that).
Good luck commander!

Thanx! It's rather about avoiding noob mistakes points but I actually play much better when I stick to them.
Still haven't finished LW so I really don't know if they hold up in Endgame.
Return to LW! What about no MECs or better NO KSM? ;-)
Certainly, I will give it a look now.

When will you make your Templar build guide? I'm dying to see it!
Not anytime soon. Sorry.
Have yet to complete a LW run let alone try LWR, but appreciate the continued posts about these great mods!
